T
his is always the big question: what is the weather going to be like when I take my vacation in the month of ....?
Well, there is no answer to that... this is a tropical region with a similar weather pattern throughout the year, meaning it has a lot of sunshine as well as intermittent rainstorms without any predictable frequency, pattern or particular location or season.

However, there is NO monsoon, there are NO cyclones, and there is a LOT of sunshine.

So, weather considerations should not be a factor in choosing your travel dates.

Rain comes in the form of warm tropical storms that usually arrive quickly, and disappear just as fast. It can rain buckets suddenly in 1 spot for 15 minutes followed by a bright sunshine, while 1/4 mile down the road, it's been totally dry!

As for the the temperature, there is no noticeable variation throughout the year. Its warm (average about 85F), but very pleasantly so, with a water temperature of about 82.  It goes down to 78/80 in the evening and at no time does one ever need a jacket or light sweater.

So, do not plan your vacation or honeymoon around any weather expectations. The weather is irrelevant because it cannot be predicted - even 5 days in advance, contrary to what the Weather Channel will have you believe...

The Overall Climate

The Society Islands ( Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Huahine, Raiatea ) and the Tuamotu atolls (Rangiroa, Fakarava, Manihi) have a mild tropical climate, mostly sunny and pleasant.
The average annual temperature in the Society Islands is 85 F with little variation through the year.

As a result of vegetation and wind factors, high islands ( Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Huahine, Raiatea ) are generally a little more humid than atolls (Rangiroa, Fakarava, Manihi), which are more exposed to the cooling influence of the trade winds.
